Fixit Clinic

Home ReSource and partners invite you to exercise your right to repair!

A Fixit Clinic is a "pop-up" event where people bring their broken things to learn how to repair them. Trying to fix something can be intimidating! Everyone is welcome, even if you have never even attempted to fix something before. Volunteer Fixit Coaches can help you repair broken, worn, or malfunctioning stuff by sharing their knowledge & skills. The result is technology demystified, more people empowered with simple repair know-how, and less stuff trashed & replaced.

Calling all creative re-users! Home ReSource is once again heading up the Creative Reuse division at the Western Montana Fair, happening Aug 10th – 14th, 2022.

Registration is open now!  All exhibitors must register by Thursday July 22nd, and all submissions are due Sunday, July 25th. So, make a stop at Home ReSource, pick up some reuse materials and get started on your award-winning masterpiece today!

General Fair Information: The Home Arts Buildings (35) will be open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 24 and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 25 to bring in your exhibits to the Missoula County Fairgrounds, 1101 South Ave. West, Building #35. Click here to view exhibitor map. Reuse masterpieces will be on display for all to see during the week of the fair! Exhibitors will pick up their submissions on August 16th. Any items not picked up on this day will become property of the fair and will likely be disposed of.

Submissions: Creative reuse, also known as “upcycling” or “repurposing,” is the act of applying creativity and innovation to bring new life or new function to existing materials. Whether transforming an old piano into a coffee table, stringing upcycled paper beads into a necklace, or reimagining scrap materials into a sculpture, repurposing is an exciting and crafty way to keep stuff out of the landfill. What can you create by choosing to reuse? Creative Reuse spans five divisions and seven classes.  Submissions will be accepted in the Commercial Building at the Missoula County Fairgrounds on July 24th or 25th.

2022 Clark Fork River Cleanup
Apr

to Apr 24

2022 Clark Fork River Cleanup

Get your crew together and get ready to help the river! The annual Clark Fork River Cleanup is a four-day, DIY cleanup covering over 30 miles of river. Choose the place, day, and time that works best for you to give back to the river that gives us so much.

Sign-up: Register for your preferred cleanup section starting April 11. Over 60 designated sites along the river in Missoula and additional sites in Deer Lodge are marked. Or tell us about new sites with cleanup needs. Registering helps track our collective impact and gives us data for future cleanups.

Supplies: Bring your own, or pick up biodegradable bags and disposable gloves at our office (140 S. 4th St. West, Missoula), Mon.-Fri. between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Pickup available through Thursday, April 22.

Trash and recycling drop-off: Dumpsters and recycling bins at convenient locations around Missoula—see BLUE pins on the registration map. Recycling is available for aluminum, tin, and plastics 1 & 2.

Sign up to be a sponsor! Sponsors help make this special event possible. Your contributions pay for supplies, trash disposal and recycling costs, signage, promotion, and more. Thanks for keeping the river clean and healthy!
